Ludwig is a British mystery comedy-drama created by Mark Brotherhood, starring David Mitchell in the lead role of John Taylor, a brilliant but socially withdrawn puzzle setter. When his identical twin brother, a detective, disappears, John is drawn into a world of crime and investigation far removed from his quiet life of constructing crosswords and logic puzzles.
Assuming his brother’s identity, John must navigate the complexities of police work while searching for answers about the disappearance. His analytical mind proves surprisingly well suited to solving cases, but the human elements of detective work present challenges he never anticipated. The series balances intricate mystery plots with sharp, character-driven comedy, anchored by Mitchell’s performance and a strong supporting cast.
Fans of British crime dramas and clever puzzle-driven storytelling appreciate Ludwig for its originality and wit. The show’s blend of classic detective tropes with a modern, humorous sensibility makes it a standout addition to any mystery collection.
