Luke Cage: Seasons 1-2 (2016-2018) 2-Disc Set Blu-ray

Luke Cage introduces a hero whose power is both a gift and a burden. After gaining super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke tries to live a quiet life in Harlem, but his sense of responsibility draws him into conflict with local crime lords and corrupt politicians. The series is deeply rooted in its setting, using Harlem’s culture and history to enrich its narrative and characters.

Over two seasons, Luke evolves from a fugitive trying to hide his abilities to a public figure who must navigate the complexities of being a hero. The show tackles issues of race, power, and community with intelligence and nuance. Memorable antagonists like Cornell ‘Cottonmouth’ Stokes and Mariah Dillard challenge Luke in different ways, while allies such as Misty Knight and Claire Temple provide support. The action is grounded and impactful, and the writing emphasizes character development.

Collectors and fans of the Marvel Netflix series will appreciate having Luke Cage in their collection for its unique voice and cultural significance. The show’s blend of superhero tropes with crime drama makes it a compelling watch, and this set offers both seasons for a complete experience.
