Close Enough is an adult animated sitcom created by J.G. Quintel, the creator of Regular Show. It centres on a couple in their early thirties who are raising a daughter while sharing their Los Angeles home with friends, trying to balance the responsibilities of adulthood with the spontaneity of their younger years.
Quintel voices Josh, with Gabrielle Walsh as Emily, and Jason Mantzoukas and Kimiko Glenn as their housemates Alex and Bridgette. Each episode blends ordinary domestic problems with wildly surreal turns, so a routine argument can escalate into a video-game-inspired adventure or a body-swap scenario. The show uses that contrast to explore friendship, parenting, and the compromises of growing up, without losing its comic energy. Its visual style and rapid-fire writing give it a distinct identity within adult animation.
Viewers who enjoy inventive animated comedy with emotional grounding find Close Enough easy to revisit. The complete three-season run captures the series at its most playful and its most surprisingly heartfelt.
