Portlandia: Seasons 1-8 (2011-2018) 8-Disc Set Blu-ray

Portlandia is the sketch comedy series created by and starring Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, which first aired on IFC in 2011. Set in the vibrant and idiosyncratic city of Portland, Oregon, the show affectionately satirizes the culture of the Pacific Northwest through a rotating cast of unforgettable characters and guest appearances.

Across its eight seasons, Portlandia built a rich comic universe populated by feminist bookstore owners, artisanal knot shop entrepreneurs, militant cyclists, and countless other eccentrics. Armisen and Brownstein wrote and performed much of the material themselves, drawing on their backgrounds in music and comedy to create sketches that are as observant as they are absurd. The series won a Peabody Award and earned multiple Emmy nominations, cementing its place in the landscape of modern American sketch comedy.

Collectors and comedy enthusiasts value the complete series for its consistent inventiveness and its affectionate portrait of a city and its people. The show’s cultural catchphrases and recurring characters have become touchstones for a generation of viewers, making the full run a rewarding addition to any comedy collection.
