Remington Steele begins with a clever premise: Laura Holt, a capable private investigator, invents a fictitious male superior to convince clients to hire her agency. When a charismatic stranger arrives and assumes the identity of the non-existent Remington Steele, the two form an unlikely partnership that drives the series forward.
The first two seasons establish the show’s winning combination of detective work, romantic tension, and light comedy. Pierce Brosnan’s debut in the role made him a star, and his chemistry with Stephanie Zimbalist gives the series its enduring appeal. The episodes balance standalone mysteries with the gradual development of the central relationship.
This collection is the ideal starting point for anyone discovering the series, and a welcome addition for longtime fans who want the earliest chapters of Laura and Remington’s story in one place.
