Extraction 1-2 (2020-2023) 2-Disc Set Blu-ray

Extraction and Extraction 2 form a two-film action saga built around Tyler Rake, a black-market mercenary whose work takes him into some of the most dangerous places on earth. The first film introduces Rake as a man with little left to lose, sent into Dhaka to retrieve a kidnapped boy, while the sequel raises the stakes with an even more punishing mission in Georgia. Together they trace a character defined less by glory than by the wounds he carries and the choices he keeps making anyway.

Chris Hemsworth anchors both films as Rake, bringing a quiet weariness to a role that demands punishing physical commitment. Director Sam Hargrave, drawing on years of stunt coordination, stages the action with long unbroken takes that keep the audience inside the fight rather than observing it from a distance. The result is a pair of thrillers that value momentum, geography and practical craft, with supporting turns from Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Golshifteh Farahani and Randeep Hooda adding texture to Rake’s world.

For action devotees and collectors, the two Extraction films represent a high point in contemporary streaming-era action cinema, and owning them together keeps the character’s arc intact from first mission to last. Fans of Hemsworth, of Hargrave’s stunt-driven set pieces, and of lean, hard-edged thrillers will find plenty to return to across both features.
