Togo (2019) 1-Disc Set Blu-ray

Togo is a 2019 adventure drama based on the real events of the 1925 serum run to Nome, Alaska. While history has often celebrated a single dog, this film turns its attention to Togo, the lead sled dog of musher Leonhard Seppala, whose team covered the longest and most perilous stretch of the relay across the frozen tundra. It is a story of survival set against one of the harshest environments imaginable.

Willem Dafoe plays Seppala as a weathered, unsentimental man whose bond with Togo is tested and deepened across years of racing and one desperate journey. Director Ericson Core captures the scale of the Alaskan wilderness while keeping the focus on the partnership at the centre of the tale. The film explores loyalty, sacrifice and the quiet heroism of those who act without expecting recognition, with a supporting cast that includes Julianne Nicholson and Christopher Heyerdahl.

Togo has become a favourite for viewers who love true-story adventure films and for families looking for a title with genuine emotional weight. Its combination of striking location photography, a moving central relationship and a remarkable piece of history makes it a rewarding addition to any Blu-ray collection.
