Brassic: Seasons 1-7 (2019-2025) 4-Disc Set Blu-ray

Brassic is a British comedy drama centred on Vinnie O’Neill and the friends he grew up with in a working-class town in the north of England. With few legitimate prospects, the group survives on a rotating series of scams and schemes, each one more ill-advised than the last. The show’s humour is broad and frequently outrageous, but it sits alongside a sincere interest in the lives of people who have been left behind by circumstance.

Joseph Gilgun co-created the series and plays Vinnie with a mix of swagger and vulnerability, while Michelle Keegan’s Erin provides both a counterweight and a source of tension within the group. The writing, led by Danny Brocklehurst, treats mental health, addiction and family loyalty with a directness that gives the comedy its weight. Over seven seasons the series expands its world while keeping the core friendships intact, and the northern setting is rendered with specificity rather than stereotype.

Fans of British comedy and of character-driven ensemble shows will find a great deal to enjoy here, and this collection gathers the entire run for viewers who want to follow the group from their earliest misadventures to their later, no less chaotic ones. It is a series that earns its laughs and its quieter moments alike.
